John Chojnowski, MD
I am originally from Bucks County, a suburb of Philadelphia. I earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Muhlenberg College, where I also played division III soccer. After graduation, I conducted cancer biology research at the University of Pennsylvania in the laboratory of Dr. Ellen Puré, focusing on the molecular drivers shaping the tumor microenvironment. I went on to earn my MD, PhD at Drexel University College of Medicine. My graduate research was in the laboratory of Dr. Todd Strochlic, where I worked to elucidate novel regulatory mechanisms of the enzyme casein kinase 2 as it relates to cancer signaling. Before joining the Department of Radiation Oncology, I completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my training in radiation oncology at Penn with so many wonderful colleagues and amazing resources!
