Dr. Michael Velec is a Radiation Therapist–Clinician Scientist and the MR-Guided Radiotherapy Program Leader in the Radiation Medicine Program, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada. Michael completed his PhD in medical sciences at the University of Toronto in 2014, and a postdoctoral fellowship in medical physics at the Techna Institute in 2016. He is an Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto and PI at the Princess Margaret Research Institute at UHN. His focus is on translating novel radiotherapy techniques and strategies into the clinic setting. Dr. Velec’s current research projects are related to MR-guided adaptive radiation therapy and novel practice models in radiation therapy that enable person-centered care.
