Raquibul Hannan, MD, PhD
Dr. Raquibul Hannan, MD, PhD is a Professor of Radiation Oncology, Urology, and Immunology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas. He serves as Chief of the Genitourinary Radiation Oncology Service, where he specializes in the treatment of kidney and prostate cancers using stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SAbR).
Dr. Hannan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from New York University, followed by his MD and PhD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He completed residency training in Radiation Oncology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
His translational research focuses on enhancing the immunogenic potential of stereotactic radiation and developing strategies to exploit its in-situ vaccination effects to augment cancer immunotherapy. His work is supported by multiple federal and state agencies, including the NIH, Department of Defense, Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT), and the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Hannan has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and holds several national and international patents. He has led multiple clinical trials investigating the use of SAbR across all stages of kidney cancer and continues to integrate novel approaches to improve outcomes for patients with genitourinary malignancies.
